L. C. ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL TRIBUTE 16: Alfred Dickson - L. C. Anderson High Yellow Jackets

This video is part of a series of clips providing an oral history about the Old/Original L. C. Anderson High School of Austin, TX (1909-1971). The school was originally named E. H. Anderson and later re-named L. C. Anderson. Ex-students and faculty of L. C. Anderson were interviewed. Anderson High was Austin's all-black high school for many years. Elementary, Middle (Jr High) and High schools throughout the South were racially-segregated for many years following the end of slavery in the United States. In Austin, TX many of the students who attended L. C. Anderson also attended Blackshear, L. L. Campbell, Rosewood, Oak Springs Elementary and Kealing Jr High schools.

If you're an ex-student, ex-faculty member, administrator or support staff of the Old Anderson High of East Austin - your input is needed. Old yearbooks, news articles, uniforms, video or film footage and other memorabilia is desperately needed.

Contact Bruce Blackwell at 512+367+9430 if you would like to be interviewed or provide memorabilia. Video or film footage of school and sports activities and the band is greatly needed.
